McCOOK, Neb. — Nada Faye Krotter was born July 21, 1938, in Hayes Center, Neb., to Gladys M. (Rathman) and Floyd M. Carmin. Nada grew up and attended school in Hayes Center, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1955. Nada continued her education with two years of summer school in Kearney, Neb.

On Aug. 30, 1959, Nada married Fred Krotter at the Palisade Methodist Church and to this union a son, Kevin, was born. Fred and Nada settled on a farm one mile east of Palisade where they would continue to live for 35 years before moving into Palisade. In 2015, Fred and Nada moved to McCook to be closer to family.

In addition to being an avid farm wife, Nada was employed at Walgren’s Grocery Store in Wauneta and at the Wauneta Nursing Home as a cook. She was also a Premier Jewelry representative and she worked at the elevator as a scales operator.

Nada was a member of the Palisade Park Board and was an Eastern Star Worthy Matron. She also volunteered as a hospice provider and as an EMT on the Wauneta Fire Department. Nada helped beautify Main Street with flower boxes and she gathered donations for the white vinyl fence directory at the Palisade Cemetery.

Nada enjoyed crafts and scrapbooking. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Nada passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at the Kinship Pointe Senior Living Center in McCook. She was 84 years of age.

Nada was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Gladys Carmin; sister, Kay Jesch; and nephew Bill Carmin.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Krotter of McCook; son, Kevin Krotter and wife, Marsha of McCook; two grandchildren, Chase (Nicole) Krotter of North Platte, Neb., and Lance Krotter of Pineridge, S.D.; and brother: Dick (Janette) Carmin of Imperial, Neb.

Graveside funeral services for Nada will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, 10 a.m. (CT), at the Palisade Cemetery, Palisade, Neb., with Rev. Joshua Clark officiating.
